Maternity & Newborn

Where is the session held?

Sessions are held at my home studio (for newborns) and outdoors in the wilderness (for maternity) in Dartford, London/Kent, UK.
What should we bring for the baby? You don’t need to bring any clothes for the baby. I will provide all clothes and props for the baby’s photoshoot. Please be assured that everything will be sanitised to the highest standards. For maternity shoots as I will provide some clothes and accessory options.

How far in advance do I need to book?

Maternity shoots are done as an add on to the newborn shoots. However, newborn shoots can be done as a stand-alone. Maternity shoots are best done from the 28-36th week of your pregnancy. For newborn sessions, it is best to book before your baby is here. Ideally just after your 20 week scan. While it is advisable to get the newborn photoshoot done within the first 15 days of the baby being born, it is ok to sometimes do it within the first month itself. However, the earlier the better because babies sleep the most in the first fortnight from their birth. They are still in the “womblike” state and hence its easier to achieve the cuddly curvy poses. Having said that, I only do a few shoots per month and so I would love to hear from you as early as possible. This will give us ample time to work on the colour and other thematic discussions related to the photoshoot.

What happens if I book a newborn session and baby doesn’t arrive on the expected date?

That’s perfectly fine. Like I said that I take only a few shoot bookings per month. So, based on whenever the baby arrives (we do a tentative date booking anyway) we reschedule. But we obviously try to stick to the first 15 days of the baby’s birth to commence our photoshoot.

Can I bring my parents for the shoot?

Of course you can bring your parents. Baby’s photoshoot will include shots with you (mum and dad and siblings and pets) and your parents as well. These are your memories and I will try my best to make it as inclusive as possible. <3

What should we be wearing?

I suggest that family members wear neutral colours such as white, creams, beiges etc. Avoid patterns. keep it as simple and timeless as possible. Once we have booked in the session, I will send you a detailed preparation guide as well so you are aware of what to expect on the day of the photoshoot.

How long does a session take?

Expect a newborn session to last up to two hours. You will get plenty of time in between the shots to feed and comfort the baby. Maternity sessions last anywhere between 30-45 minutes.

Price and Package Options?

Photoshoots are charged at £199 for session fee only (this does not include any images. This fee, however, includes the session time and travel.)
These would be on location within a certain distance from my studio in Dartford or we could do sit somewhere in London (extra travel charges apply). The outdoor sessions are tons of fun and can last anywhere between 90-120 minutes. The focus of the shoot is the unique bond of your family. My style is more narrative/storytelling based. In my shoots, I try to bring out the special story of your lives.
In saying all of this, my availability depends on what dates you are looking for. If you let me know when you are looking to do the photo session, I can check my calendar and see if I can squeeze you in :-).
Below-mentioned is the price information for purchasing images (digitals only) following your session:
5 digital images for £799
10 digital images for £1150
All digital images (up to 12) for £1199
Images will be of very high resolution and you can use them for large print orders as well. If you want, I can help you with prints also. Let me know if you would be interested in getting high quality and very artistic prints done via me.
The standard procedure is that four to six weeks following the photoshoot, I will send you a password protected gallery with your images (edited. Please be aware that I will not provide unedited images to you. You will be given a selection of edited images to pick your final package from) to view and you can select what you want from there.
